Bahrain looks to host an exceptional AYG 2025, says Askar
Media Committee – Asian Youth Games 2025:
Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority and member of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the third Asian Youth Games, affirmed the Kingdom’s full readiness to host the event, scheduled from October 22 to 31, 2025. This prestigious event will be held under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
In his statement, Dr. Askar expressed profound gratitude to His Majesty for the Royal sponsorship of the Games, emphasizing that this support serves as the primary motivation for delivering an extraordinary organizational experience that aligns with the royal patronage and the Kingdom’s stature.
He praised the ongoing efforts and guidance from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee. Dr. Askar noted that His Highness’ continuous directives provide a clear roadmap for the work of both the Supreme Organizing Committee and the Executive Committee, as well as all relevant bodies.
Dr. Askar highlighted the pivotal role of the General Sports Authority in preparing for the event, indicating that a comprehensive plan is in place to enhance and equip all sports facilities that will host competitions and training sessions.
“We have developed an extensive plan to elevate all sports venues, including fields, halls, and arenas, ensuring they meet the highest international and Asian standards. The General Sports Authority is committed to providing all logistical, technical, and administrative support to the Executive Committee, in full cooperation with all related governmental and private entities, to overcome any challenges during the preparation process,” he stated.
In conclusion, Dr. Askar affirmed that hosting this event represents a historic opportunity for the youth of Bahrain to showcase the advanced sports infrastructure and high organizational capabilities of the Kingdom. He wished success to all working committees and participating athletes in the Games.
