His Excellency Engineer Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, stated that the ministry has dedicated its efforts and resources in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games – Bahrain 2025. The goal is to showcase Bahrain’s full readiness to host this significant continental sporting event.
The Undersecretary explained that the ministry has developed a comprehensive plan covering several key areas, including beautification works, flag installations, continuous cleaning operations, and facilitation of advertisement licensing procedures.
He noted that coordination has been completed to streamline the process of installing advertisements in vital locations along main roads and around the championship venues, helping to highlight the identity of the Games and promote them effectively to the public and visitors. Additionally, eight designated locations for installing the flags of participating countries have been identified and approved in coordination with the Executive Committee.
The Undersecretary added that the ministry has placed great importance on cleanliness by coordinating with cleaning companies and forming a dedicated field team to continuously monitor operations throughout the duration of the Games, ensuring that all sites remain clean and reflect Bahrain’s civilized image.
The ministry has also decorated the championship venues to create an aesthetic appearance befitting the prestige and regional significance of the event.
Furthermore, His Excellency noted that the ministry facilitated the entry of participating camel teams by coordinating with the veterinary quarantine department to streamline procedures and reduce quarantine periods in line with the Games’ schedule, ensuring smooth participation and a suitable environment for these important heritage events.
He concluded by emphasizing that these efforts are part of an integrated system of cooperation and coordination among various government entities, aimed at delivering an exceptional edition of the 2025 Asian Youth Games that reflects Bahrain’s advanced organizational capabilities and reinforces its position as a leading destination for hosting major continental and international sporting events.
