Media Committee – Third Youth Asian Games:
In preparation for Bahrain’s hosting of the third edition of the Asian Youth Games, which will take place under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa from October 22 to 31, 2025, Eng. Ahmed Sami Al Tajer, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads at the Ministry of Works, has announced the completion of a comprehensive maintenance plan for the roads surrounding the main sports facilities.
Al Tajer detailed that the maintenance works included resurfacing asphalt layers, repainting road markings, and improving parking facilities at several venues set to host the events. Notable locations include Khalifa Sports City, Bahrain National Stadium, Muharraq Club, and Ahli Club, all aimed at ensuring the infrastructure is ready to welcome athletes and spectators.
He emphasized that this initiative is part of ongoing coordination with the General Sports Authority and reflects the Ministry’s commitment to supporting national initiatives. It also enhances Bahrain’s readiness to host major sporting events, thereby solidifying the kingdom’s status as a leading destination for regional and international championships.
Moreover, the Assistant Undersecretary stated that supporting major sporting events aligns with the Ministry’s strategic vision for developing the kingdom’s infrastructure, in line with the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for citizens and residents alike.
