Yousif Mohammed Albinkhalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the third Asian Youth Games, “Bahrain 2025”, from the 22nd till the 31st of October, is a major sporting event that reflects the Kingdom’s prominent standing in organising international events, particularly in sports. He said the hosting reflects the advancement within the framework of Bahrain’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that the sports sector in Bahrain has seen significant growth on both regional and international scales through the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, President of the General Authority for Sport and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. Their efforts, he said, has placed Bahrain among the leading nations in achieving titles and in successfully hosting regional and international competitions.
The Undersecretary added that, under the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and the follow-up of Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, the Ministry has developed a comprehensive media plan for the coverage of the Games. The plan is designed to showcase Bahrain’s reputation in hosting major events and to reflect the professionalism and expertise of Bahraini media personnel.
The plan includes full television coverage, with documentation, reports and live broadcasts of more than 30 sports and over 55 competitions and events, including the opening and closing ceremonies. Coverage will be managed through the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), which will serve as the hub for global distribution. The IBC will include studios, control rooms, advanced infrastructure with servers, fibre networks, satellites and cloud systems, as well as a newsroom, workspaces for media teams, and a coordination centre to ensure smooth operations for broadcasts to channels and digital platforms.
